The Obama administration's
economic stimulus package has inspired comparisons to
the Works
Progress Administration efforts of the 1930s. After I
visited a new exhibit at the Carter G. Woodson Library, I
began to hope that there's an artistic element to Obama's
stimulus package that's reminiscent of the WPA's arts
movement. Here's why:

The Mission |
The Society for the Advancement of Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection seeks to ensure the preservation, growth and development of the Harsh Research Collection. In recognition of the need to preserve for future generations the legacy embodied in this priceless resource, the Society formed to raise funds to promote the Collection and make it more accessible, and to purchase artwork to beautify the space.
